What the heck is this thing called " Feng-shui " anyway?

What the heck is this thing called " Feng-shui " anyway?

Yes, people will tell you that "Ok, it's very simple - 'Feng' is 'Wind' and 'Shui' is 'water' in Chinese. But it doesn't tell you a whole lot about what it is. Really.

What's so big deal about wind and water anyway?

Does it mean that the wind and water will have to flow in a certain manner in order for them to bring goodness?

Or there is something else hidden somewhere that we don't know about?

To tell you the truth, not a lot of people - oh, sorry, I mean 'masters' - know why it is that the Chinese wise-guys in the good ole days made such a big deal about these 2 elements.

But to tell you more truth, Chinese culture has a lot of wisdom in itself. And way back then - I mean, thousand years ago - our ancestors were already so wise and intelligent that every little thing that they did carried a lot of meaning in them.

They didn't just do something for nothing. Everything they did was so carefully orchestrated that we can still see their traces even nowadays. For example, many Chinese characters in use today carry a lot of meaning as to why they're so formed and those meanings can be as deep and far-reaching as being philosophical themselves!

If you've learned the Chinese language, you'd understand what I mean. Most of the words in Chinese have their origin from the 'I-ching' system, which is a very profound study of how the Universe operates!

That means, you can easily understand how the Universe operates by diving deeply into the Chinese words themselves. And all these have their origin from the meaning of 'I-ching' - the Bible of Changes!

The essence of 'I-ching' is Yin and Yang. Yin is the static, passive characteristic part of energy whereas Yang is the always dynamic and active counterpart.

The whole game plan of Feng-shui, as in everything else in the Chinese philosophical system, is to balance out the Yin and the Yang. When this is done, then everything will be at its point of equilibrium, which means there is no good nor bad - thus harmony is created.

The way of the Tao is - guess what - Nothingness!

You are just you are!

Things are just they are!

The good ole New Age saying: I am that I am....

And by manipulating the elements and their Yin and Yang natures, true Feng-shui masters can often work miracles that are totally beyond the comprehension of those who don't understand the true principles behind such Universal truth.

What is Feng-shui
